Stained glass is built on a chain of specialist skills, from making the glass itself to cutting, painting and assembling it. Through the people who still practise these crafts, the film explores the knowledge, dedication and passion behind stained glass, and the people determined to carry it forward.


In this film, we watch Elliot Walker make mouth blown sheet glass, a rare skill that sits at the beginning of the stained glass process.

The camera stays close to the people and their processes, finding detail in hands, tools, materials and the spaces where the work happens. We are interested in changing light, reflections, colour and texture, moving between intimate moments in the workshop and the scale of stained glass within its architectural surroundings.
